Bible Study Lesson:
History of the Bible,
The New Testament
There are 2 parts to the Holy Bible in the King James Version of the Bible; they are the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament has 39 Books in it, and the New Testament has 27 Books in it. There are a total of 66 Books in the Bible.
There are 14 other Books of Bible that were not included, which are called the Apocrypha, which means Hidden Books. These Books were originally in the King James Version of the Bible in 1611. These Books were between the Old and New Testament. It was decided by the Protestant Church to take out the Hidden Books, the Catholic Church has kept the Apocrypha within their Bible.
We have studied about the 10 Major Sections of the Old Testament. We are now looking at the New Testament. The New Testament is about Jesus and the Early Church. The first four books of the New Testament were written by Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. The majority of the Books of the New Testament were written by Apostle Paul. We studied the Book of Acts, the the Book of Romans, the Books of First and Second Corinthians, the Book of Galatians, the Book of Ephesians, the Book of Philippians, Book of Colossians, First Thessalonians, Second Thessalonians, First Timothy, Second Timothy, Book of Titus, Book of Philemon, Book of Hebrew, Book of James and in this lesson, we are learning about the
Book of FIRST PETER:
This Book was written by Peter, the Disciple of Jesus, around 60 A.D. Peter was married, and his wife often traveled with him in the days of he was with Jesus. In the First Book of Peter, he was sharing with the Early Christians the importance of Holding to Your Faith in Tough Times. Here is quick synopsis:
1. Living Hope through Christ Jesus, Chapter 1, Verses 3-12.
2. Understanding Our Holy Calling in Christ Jesus, Chapter 1, Verse 14 through Chapter 2, Verse 12.
3. Call to Surrender and Submission, Chapter 2 and Chapter 3.
4. Understanding what it means to Endure Suffering for the Lord Chapter 3 and Chapter4.
5. Praise and Exhortations. Chapter 5.
This is a wonderful book about enduring in one's Faith!
Remember to keep Jesus first!
He that endures to the End, Wins in Christ Jesus!
Love,
Sister Christine
